Beirut Designer’s Week is back this year with its 4th edition, introducing newborn designers to the market and featuring established ones as well.
Designers exhibited their latest work for Wednesday’s opening that witnessed great number of design fans and glam addicts. The Organizer of Beirut Designer’s Week, Sandra Ghattas says “each year we are attracting more than 50,000 visitors.”
Celebrities and public figures started flocking into Beirut’s favorite outdoor destination, Zaitunay Bay- lower promenade, to take part of this annual rendezvous. Carine Salemeh, founder of C-Rocks bags, says “It’s the first year I collaborate with BDW and I am more than happy to be part of this exhausting yet special event. BDW offers a direct contact between the designer and the consumers, so I take advantage of improving my products according to their feedbacks.”
Initially organized by GATA events and Promotions and sponsored by Rim Sparkling, Bank Audi Lebanon and Volvo Cars Lebanon, “the event aims to attract quality visitors,” as Sandra Ghattas says. According to Ghattas, the event in itself is special, the designers participating as well. BDW has released creative minds, in the world of design, that are shining internationally in “Bloomingdales” and “Harvey Nichols”.
This year, BDW does not only include booths where designers can showcase their products but it’s also hosting fashionistas as well as media faces to select their favorite picks from the Lebanese designers. Ghattas says “we are collaborating with well-known people who are using their fame to help better market their products.”
Year by year, the event is growing to become a space to give promotion to the latest in haute couture, jewelry, fashion accessories, design furniture and home accessories.
